Soldier Field, Chicago- Half-mile oval and hosted a NASCAR race in 1956. Home of the Chicago Bears.

Las Vegas Park Speedway- A one-mile dirt track which brought in the NASCAR Cup West and hosted the series in 1955 before being torn down to make room for hotels.

Raleigh Speedway-  A one-mile paved track that was also the first lighted superspeedway in the '50s. North Carolina.

Ontario Motor Speedway-  Opened in 1970 and was regarded as one of the finest motorsports facilities of the period.  It was torn down only a decade later, however, because the property was needed for commercial developement.  California.

North Wilkesboro Speedway-  A NASCAR chartered track and  the competition home of Junior Johnson dropped off the NASCAR Circuit in 1996.  This track hosted some great racing over it's half-century.  North Carolina.

Lindon, New Jersey, Airport-  NASCAR ran the first Winston Cup Series road race here after putting together airport runways in 1954.  The race was won by a Jaguar driven by Al Keller who has the only Winston Cup win in a foreign car.

Langhorne Speedway-  A one-mile dirt track that was wicked because it formed an almost perfect circle.  Langhorne opened in the '20s and ran Winston Cup cars from '49 to '57.

Occoneechee Speedway-  Located near Hillsboro, North Carolina, a narrow and fast one-mile dirt oval.  This track required a lot of demand from the drivers.  It closed down in 1968.

McCormick Field-  Located in Asheville, North Carolina,  was actually built to accommodate baseball but in '58 hosted the Winston Cup on it's quarter mile track carved into a baseball field.

Bowman-Gray Stadium-  Located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  Still hosts NASCAR-sanctioned events but not the Winston Cup series.

Greenville-Pickins,South Carolina - Classic southern short track no longer hosting Winston Cup series.

Hickory, North Carolina- Another classic southern short track no longer hosting Winston Cup series.

South Boston, Virginia- Yet another classic southern short track no longer hosting Winston Cup series.
